Do You Compute, Volume 3, online now. I swear I will never mess with torrents or iPodder temp files again. This is a plain old MP3, hosted by the hosting company, and you can listen to it anywhere.
I know Thad and Tony are checking it out, and Crat mentioned not getting the last one, but is anyone else venturing in here? You don’t need an iPod, you know… just 33 minutes, and an open heart. :)

For the most part, I think RSS is kind of silly. On the other hand, for websites that I absolutely don’t want to miss anything that a certain person or publication sends or updates, it’s a great way to stay on top of it while not checking the internet every six seconds.
One thing I check more often than anything is the comments that this blog receives. I read every single one, and even though I’ve noticed that a lot of big-shot bloggers don’t enter their own comment sections, I’m happy to get in there and stir it up with you.
So, to that end, if you want to check an RSS feed for the latest in dnord.com comments, you can check here. This doesn’t reflect posts, only comments, so you’ll have to subscribe to both if you want the full experience.
Seriously, for what it does well, there’s nothing like having a zippy RSS reader. I encourage you to try it out if you haven’t.

We get our Halloween fun when we can. This was last weekend, as we prepared to depart for Richfield’s least depressing community Halloween thing.

Twins due in January, huh? Hope you like being in bed. Christie was looking at the same kind of thing (not due for eight weeks, and then Adam screwed that whole plan up), but we didn’t have to do bedrest, and that was a Good Thing.

Before I forget: I had a dream last night that my weblog was nominated for the Weblog of the Year, except it was only in conjunction with Benno’s weblog. In my dream, Benno answered every single one of my posts with a furious, enraged rebuttal, and I responded on mine with a witty know-it-all dismissal. Our two weblogs had so captivated the nation that we were trivia answers, morning news show guests, and recognized on the street. There was a pop culture trend (parodies!) of the stereotypical wonky older brother, and the fuming, foul-mouthed younger brother, and I took my celebrity very seriously. I knew we wouldn’t win weblog of the year (since there were serious weblogs, and ours were really just us being brothers, a passing fad), but I was really convinced that Benno and I were, at least for the time being, very important.
When I woke up, I found this very funny.

Crat’s a big winner this week with 8 picks. Let’s hear it for Crat!
Tony and Thad are tied for the overall lead. I am last in everything. If you had gone against me again this week, you would have done better than Crat - 9 picks, tied with Underdog Adam.

Yeah, just ignore this. Forget it ever happened.
(If you’re using iPodder to get this, please let me know if you got this and didn’t get episode 2. Thanks.)

Yep, we saw the Vikings yesterday. It was a pretty awful game from a football perspective. No Randy Moss, a ton of little screen passes and runs up the middle, and only a few really exciting plays.
The weird thing is I’m having a very hard time remembering very much specific about it. I remember being very excited at the beginning, a little disgusted by the number of penalties, somewhat surprised at the number of first downs, and slightly interested at one point when it looked like we might not get 300 total yards. I spent a lot of time in lines for hot dogs and the bathroom, and missed a few key plays.
But am I that conditioned to having some ex-player rambling on about two feet equaling one knee that I can’t comprehend or recall something as simple as a football game without it? Or was I so overwhelmed by watching the things you can’t see on TV that I missed the ebb and flow of the actual game?

Sunday morning, amidst all the network / torrent / podcast craziness, I read Drudge. (Bad habit, but….) He had a little headline about Ashlee Simpson walking off stage during Saturday Night Live during a lipsync snafu, and I was never happier that I Tivo SNL.
I fast-forwarded to Ashlee singing song 1. Yup, it’s the one I’ve seen the video for. Fast forward to song 2, and she does a little dance, and her voice starts singing song 1 again, except she’s not holding the microphone where she’d need to. She walked off, the band played along with song 1 (because what are you going to do, really), and then they went to commercial. Oh well.
The best explanation I’ve heard is actually on Mike Doughty’s blog, where a friend of a guest of the director chimed in. Definitely check that out.
