Hi there kids. Time to

Hi there kids. Time to check off the list of stuff floating around in my head these days.

Today at work I installed PWS again. It’s just to help me test a system for locating title offices, but I can’t get over how much I don’t like that program. Not that I like IIS much better; it’s just not very well put together for software that’s so ostensibly sophisticated. The way the whole program is set up like a wizard (complete with animated, purple-hat-and-robe-clad wizard) is stupid. If there was any other way to hack together an Access-style database with Access-quality tools and patch together a decent UI in a week, you know I’d use it.

Christie had a great idea to join a health club. This is all well and good, but it turns out that there’s a YWCA within walking distance. Which means that I’ll be referring to my club as “the Y” for a long time without mention of the letter that follows it. On the flipside, I’ll never be tempted to hum that Village People song.

The Y offers personal trainers, a swimming pool, all kinds of equipment, and of course BODY PUMP®. I don’t have a clue what BODY PUMP® is, but I imagine it involves being with other people at the health club. Grrr.

Prior to that experience, we went and bought a TV. It’s wicked awesome. That naturally required that I rearrange the cables and stuff behind the TV for three or four hours.

Oh, we went to the fair yesterday, too. We ate fried cheese, corn dogs, mini-donuts, and any number of $2.75 fountain drinks. Also, I touched a pig. People in other states: I know you’re jealous.
